A group of nine people, including children and adults, posing outdoors in a rocky area, dressed in vintage clothing, likely from the early 20th century.

George Avery (1842-1924) and Lottie Niles Avery (1844-1922) Lottie Niles was born in Preston, PA, and George Avery was born in Chittlehampton, Devon, England. Thet married and moved to Lebanon, PA, before 1870, and then moved to Coventry, CT, sometime after 1881. The reason they moved from Pennsylvania to Connecticut is unknown, but it is thought that they moved to be closer to relatives. They had ten children with seven (six boys and one girl) surviving infancy. During this period infant mortality was high.
