Mary Ann Needham Mellor

Mary Ann Needham Mellor (1855-1940) Mary Ann and her husband John Edward Mellor (1856-1919) moved their three children, Charles, Ethel and Mildred, from Huddersfield, England in the late 1900s to New York City. Mary Ann had been a school headmistress in Harrogate, England. Her son Charles and his wife Anita named their daughter Mildred to honor Charles’ sister who died in 1912 at age 20 of tuberculosis. Mary Ann came to live with the Averys in Coventry after her husband died, until her death in the house at 74 Avery Shores.
